Description

The 1634 Meadery turns 10 and we are celebrating with a family and dog friendly VIKING BLOCK PARTY! The Viking Irish from Boston are invading Ipswich and will do battle on Short Street! We've blocked off the road to make room. for the combat! This is a FREE event! There will also be food trucks, games, face painting, bee and honey talks, honey sampling, a Viking photo-booth, tours, and of course mead for those over 21!

EVENT: Our 10th year in business Viking party - May 17th, 12 til 5pm. FAMILY and DOG FRIENDLY! LOCATION: 1634 Meadery, 3 Short Street, Ipswich. We are shutting down Short Street and ready to PARTY! The VIKING IRISH are coming! The Boston Viking Irish These folks are the REAL DEAL! They make their own clothing - BY HAND. They engage in combat and draw a crowd. They celebrate Viking culture and crafts. Combat battles at 1 and at 3pm. Other Events: *Face painting by Shirley Berry *Bee and Honey Education by Bill Hamilton, Black Birch Farm *Viking Photo-booth *Corn hole and jenga and other games *Self Guided production room tours *Wolf Hollow information table *Mead Flights inside and on designated patio area *Honey sampling of several varietal honeys Food Vendors Skratch Cookies - souvenir meadery and viking cookies Honey from Black Birch farm - honey Popped Stores (Salem) - bagged popcorn Three Sweet Peas Bakery - baked goods Down River Ice Cream - ice cream Del Sur Empanadas - empanadas- Whoopie Pie Wagon - whoopie pies Jim Capone - chick chick cart - Sausages, hot dogs, spanakopita Quinn’s Canine Cafe dog treats (for our K9 friends!) Parking: overflow to High Street and Winthrop Elementary lot (approved 4/3) Each Shot Street business and resident will get a TICKS AUTO parking pass from us and be allowed to park in Tick’s lot for the day (thank you Shawn!). Number of Visitors Expected: 200-300 throughout the day (no Ed Sheeran crowd but we hope to be rocking!!)
